Chairman's Letter
2010 was an exciting year with our work continuing at Bulli & Woonona & at Corrimal High Schools. 2011 sees Corrimal expand from 1 day a week to 2 days per week.
Please continue to pray for the teachers as they prepare for the demanding task in the classrooms.
I'd like to thank all our supporters who continue to pray and to give to our work.
I'd also like to express my thanks to the team (board members), who work hard to make sure the work is carried out with Christian values & commitment.
I'd like to welcome to the team our new minutes secretary, Jenny Tibben.
In Him,
John

Bulli High Report

This term will involve running 2 lunchtime groups; year11,12 seminars; and helping staff in classrooms & school carnivals.
The lunchtime group on Tuesdays continues to be stable but not growing. Please pray for a few student leaders who are passionate to grow this wonderful group. The Monday lunchtime group is for girls wanting to grow in faith. Interestingly 2 girls have turned up who are not Christians but certainly keen to know more about God & His ways. This group has loads of potential & I am so excited to see it grow & develop.
I have been praying for more volunteer help with the seminars for years11,12. We will now have quite a few young faces there from various church communities. I will run training for them leading up to the seminars in late March.
Please pray, as year 7-10 letters go out to parents about SRE terms 2 &3, that parents will support SRE & many students will attend classes.
Gillian

Woonona High Report

The term has started well. I have only 4 classes instead of 6 in Yr 7 due to less students in the year but it has turned out to be a blessing as I only have 1 volunteer teacher & we are covering all the classes.

The swimming carnival was a few weeks ago & was a great way to get to know the students. I'm really looking forward to the athletics carnival & other sports days.

More good news is that my senior high lunch group girls will be starting a junior group. They will be leading the junior girls in some studies from Marks gospel. Praise God for the 6 yr 11 girls & how much they have grown in their faith over the last 2 yrs.

Ill be at school all day Tuesday, Thursday & Friday so pray students will see me more & more as part of the school & lots of great opportunities will come from that.

I have also started a senior high bible study with 9 girls & 8 are from Woonona High so pray these girls will grow in faith & pray for 2 of the girls who are still searching & asking lots of great questions.

Jill

Corrimal High
Can I assure you that the need for these youth to hear the good news goes without saying, I continue to be amazed at how little most students at Corrimal High School know & understand about the Bible, God & Christianity.
We have been timetabled with classes on Wed & Fri & looking to get involved in sport on Wed afternoons. I am pleased to say that the school has provided a room in the library for the scripture teachers use. Hopefully this will provide opportunities for students to find us at recess & lunch times if they are interested, as well as making us more accessible to staff.
I met with Olivia, who runs the lunchtime program. We are looking at doing a few combined events & above all supporting each other.
We seek to trial a few new initiatives this year; that hopefully will help us to engage with both the students in the SRE lessons & the others who are in Years 11 & 12 or who have signed up for non-scripture.
Mark

Finance Report
I would like to thank all those who financially supported this ministry in 2010, as you can see from the reports we are making great progress in all 3 schools in building rapport with staff & students and having great opportunities to share our faith, in & out of the classroom.

I would also like to thank all those who supported my bike ride late 2010 which raised $2,000 toward SRE in Bulli, Woonona & Corrimal High.

We have covered January & February but so far do not have enough coming in for the month of March. Please pray for regular ongoing financial support for this ministry.
Many thanks,
John Armour
Acting treasurer
